PLTW Distinguished School
PLTW

Burnside Elementary has once again been recognized as a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School for increasing access, engagement, and achievement in our PLTW program. We are extremely proud of this award from an organization with national reach and presence.  Only 310 schools in the country are awarded this honor.

Burnside Elementary began offering PLTW in 2016-2017, and today, 100% of students in grades K-5 participate in our PLTW program. We’re inspiring and engaging students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and preparing them for success in their careers and beyond. Since PLTW, our students have improved their academic knowledge as well as their ability to reason and solve real world problems.  They have learned to work in teams and groups to solve a common problem.
